I had read this workaround and tried it before even i raised this question in this forum. This workarounds do not work.
Incoming Microsoft releases fresh firmware fixes for Surface Pro 3 and 4 Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 are getting a little firmware love today from Microsoft.
Some reported that one of these workarounds got them working
Workaround #1
2. Choose Devices.
1. Check Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard and ensure that Filter Keys
2. Check BIOS and make sure Type Cover is enabled in Devices.
3. In Device Manager, click on the View menu > Show Hidden.

Today we've released an updated Surface Type Cover Filter Device driver for the Surface Pro 4. This update provides support for the new Surface Pro Type Cover and the Surface Pro Signature Type Cover.

For Surface Pro 4, the updates are available in MSI and ZIP format from the Surface Pro 4 Drivers and Firmware page in the Microsoft Download Center. Click Download to download the following file:
